The current form of this site is a result of a decision I made a few years ago to use davidrmunson.com as my portfolio site and use this site as more of a wide-ranging collection of things. Recently, I’ve decided to switch things up again. Most photography-related things will be moved back over to my other site, and this site will focus on my publishing efforts, both of my own work and the work of others. It’s never going to be purely about that, though.
The name of this site, Aleatorist, derives from the word aleatoric, in this case referring to the role of chance and randomness in the things I find myself wanting to pursue. I’m interested in just about everything, and am never going to be specialized in what I do. Life’s too short and too interesting to restrict my interests.
Fundamentally, I want to share those interests with the world, and that’s why I’ll be moving things around and changing the focus of this site. So from here on, publishing and related activities will take the center position. This means books, zines, audiobooks, installations, weird vending machines filled with artwork, etc. Things like that.
To keep abreast of new developments, and to get occasional emails where I’ll be soliciting responses for question-centric publications, please sign up to the mailing list. I promise not to spam you—if I send something out, there will always be a good reason for it.
Thanks for being here!
