The intention of Aleatorist Press is to put forth a mix of experimental, expressive, and pragmatic publications that all connect to the foundational compulsions to explore, create, and share. What we do here emerges from process, from accident, from the productive uncertainty of not always knowing where something is going. The aleatory is not randomness for its own sake. It is an acknowledgment that the most interesting things often happen when a maker loosens the grip of intention enough to let the work itself take the lead.
Publications include zines, essays, photo books, and other materials. Initially, the focus is on the work of Aleatorist founder David R Munson, but in the long run, new publications will include works by other creators, as well as collaborative and community-based projects.
